Neutral venue Test Matches?

"I'm not sure he's changed, I just think any technical deficiencies he's got aren't in play out here. The wickets just take that out of the equation." - were James Anderson's remarks when asked about difference in Virat Kohli now and in England 2014 - where and when Virat Kohli struggled miserably.

There are two school of thoughts on this topic of discussion. One believes that the comments, by all means are fair as Virat Kohli is yet to prove his prowess when bowl tends to swing. The other, Anderson's comments were graceless and atrocious, he should have accepted his defeat and praised Virat's knock.

What second school of thought do, is that it raises question over Anderson skills (as all condition bowler) - a bowler of great pedigree with over 400 test scalps - that he is no good when conditions aren't conducive to swing bowling. But that is far from being true.

There is no doubt that Virat scored those runs in familiar surroundings but yet those were runs, test runs. Though most of Anderson wicket have come in England but yet those are well earned wickets.

This take us into a whole new debate.

This is an era of home dominance and it doesn't look it is going to end any time soon. This might be the ripe time for neutral venue Tests.

Just fancy it for a moment, Virat Kohli taking guard against James Anderson in heat and bounce of Perth, the pitch is neither a turner nor a green one, none of the parties could claim over home advantage, as there is nil - wouldn't it be spicy.

This is just not the one case. The foreign teams doesn't take losses in subcontinent flippantly, the belief is, that home team have won owing to unfair home advantage. Instead of working on their skills, modifying or altering their techniques they belittles it.

None of this will be the case, if match is conducted in neutral venues, No team has got an extra edge. Conditions are estrange to both teams. This will add whole new dimension to test cricket.

The messy part is crowd attraction. Even in home games barely half the stadium is full. Crowd attraction generates revenue which further helps in development and advancement of cricket at grass root levels. Will the people come to watch their team play abroad in neutral venues? A true cricket fan will!!!

The time is ripe for neutral venue test cricket.
