India needs flair

In a way, team India could be considered lucky to reach the finals of recently concluded Champions Trophy. They neither encountered pre-tournament favorites England nor did they face mighty Aussies. To me, the drubbing they received in finals against Pakistan didn't come as a matter of surprise. In fact, it was due. Now, for quite a while, India has been playing the conservative brand of cricket.

It reflects in team's selection, itself - persisting with Yuvraj instead of blooding youngsters, not playing a wrist-spinner etc. It is not to say, that India doesn't have resources, in fact they have the required wherewithal in abundance - thanks to IPL and a rich structure at grass root level. It is more to do with the repudiation exhibited by team management towards dynamic (or should I say requisite) approach. With 2019 World Cup just two years away, it is pivotal that India should now start drawing a road map.
